This policy explains what data WebsiteAudit.in (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the site, and why.

What we collect

  • The URL you scan, used to run the audit; we fetch publicly available pages from that site the same way a browser would.
  • Your email address, only collected if you purchase a full report, used solely to deliver the PDF report and, if payment succeeds but delivery fails, to follow up.
  • Basic analytics. For every scan, we log the timestamp, scanned domain, report tier (free/paid), an irreversibly hashed version of your IP address (never the raw IP), approximate location (country/region/city, derived from standard hosting infrastructure, not GPS), and browser/device type. This is used to prevent excessive automated use of the free scan and to understand product usage. We do not sell this data.
  • Payment information, handled entirely by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card details; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.

What we don't do

We don't store the content of the site you scan beyond what's needed to generate your report. We don't require an account or login. We don't sell or share your email with third parties for marketing.

Service providers we use

Like most online services, we rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure partners to run WebsiteAudit.in, each processing only the data needed for their specific role:

  • Hosting and infrastructure, runs the website and processes your scan requests.
  • Analytics and data storage, stores the anonymized/hashed usage data described above.
  • Payment processing, handles the $3.50 charge for full reports; we never see or store your card details.
  • Email delivery, sends your report to the address you provide at checkout.
  • Report generation, converts your report into a PDF file.
  • Performance data, supplies real-world speed data for the URL you scan, via a public performance-measurement API.

Each of these partners is contractually or by design limited to using the data solely to provide their service to us. None of them are permitted to use it for their own marketing or resell it.

Data retention

Analytics events are retained to understand usage trends and are not tied to your identity beyond a hashed IP. If you'd like your data associated with a specific scan removed, contact us at support@websiteaudit.in with the approximate date and site you scanned, and we'll delete it.

Cookies

The Service itself does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookies we set directly are strictly functional (e.g. session handling during checkout). Our payment processor's checkout window, loaded from their own domain, may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and session handling; this is managed by them, not us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
